Lightroom by Adobe

What desktop application first comes to mind when you think of photography? I’m assuming you’ll say Photoshop. Well, Adobe has come up with an easier, more intuitive tool called Lightroom.

Lightroom allows you to simplify and streamline your photo management and editing process. Some of the benefits of Lightroom are:

  • state of the art editing tools
  • non-destructive editing (meaning your original images remain safely unaltered)
  • an easy-to-learn, user-friendly environment where you can manage your images
  • easy to share your photos
  • more time for shooting and marketing

Once I start using my DSLR camera, I plan to get very familiar with Lightroom and experiment with all of the different tools. Here are some examples of the special tools they offer:

  • online sharing integration (facebook, flickr, etc)
  • lens correction
  • perspective correction
  • easy image importing
  • image watermarking (lets you apply a logo or text to a photo with ease)
  • film grain simulation (allows you to control roughness of grain that you can add or remove)

Here are some reviews of the product.

Anyone who has tried it, please let me know what you think before I decide to make the purchase!
